Overview
Registered in 2008 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Spinners', 'Franc's Fight Nite' is a medium-sized hosta distinguished by its dark green, cupped leaves with pure white, slightly rippled margins. The leaf margins are notably ragged, measuring 0.3 to 1.3 cm (0.1 to 0.5 in) wide, and the ovate leaves with cordate bases display nine vein pairs.
In the Garden
This cultivar forms a mound-shaped clump reaching 35.6 cm (14 in) in height and 76.2 cm (30 in) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and pairs well with other shade-tolerant perennials such as ferns, heucheras, and astilbes. Its medium size makes it suitable for mid-border positions or as a specimen in shaded beds.
Care Notes
Water regularly during dry periods, particularly in the first growing season. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
