Overview
Registered in 1978 by P. Aden, this small hosta cultivar resulted from a cross between *H. 'Flamboyant'* (pod parent) and *H. 'High Fat Cream'* (pollen parent). It is distinguished by its variegated leaves with multi-colored margins, a trait inherited from its parentage.
In the Garden
Mature plants reach approximately 14 inches (35.6 cm) in height and spread to 18 inches (45.7 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for small garden spaces, rock gardens, or container cultivation. As a small hosta, it performs best in partial to full shade, typical of the genus, and pairs well with other small perennials such as ferns, heucheras, or dwarf astilbes. Its compact size also makes it an appropriate choice for trough gardens or the front of shaded borders.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so appropriate protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
