Overview

Registered in 1999 by F. Woodroffe and subsequently registered by P. Ruh, *Hosta* 'Fleeta's Fantasy' is a small-sized cultivar distinguished by its blue-green leaf centers edged with wide gold margins, a reverse coloration pattern relative to many variegated hostas. The leaves are cordate-based, 5.5 inches (14.0 cm) long and 4.5 inches (11.4 cm) wide, with 12 vein pairs and a dull texture on both surfaces.

In the Garden

Mature plants form a mound 9 inches (22.9 cm) tall and 13 inches (33.0 cm) in diameter, with a slow growth rate. This small hosta is well-suited for shaded borders, rock gardens, or container culture, and performs best in partial to full shade with consistent moisture. Its compact habit makes it an effective edging plant or accent in smaller garden spaces, pairing well with ferns, heucheras, or other shade-tolerant perennials.

Care Notes

Provide regular water during dry periods and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Fleeta's Fantasy' is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
