Overview

Registered in 1992 by E. Fisher and subsequently registered by P. Ruh, this medium-sized sport is visually defined by its green leaves with broad, whitish-yellow margins that exhibit a marbled pattern which fades as the season progresses. The leaf margins measure 0.5 to 0.75 inches (1.3 to 1.9 cm) wide, and the foliage displays 8 to 10 vein pairs with flat to rounded leaf bases.

In the Garden

Reaching a mature diameter of 30 inches (76.2 cm) and a height of 11 inches (27.9 cm), 'Fisher's Cream Edge' forms a compact, mounding clump suitable for partial to full shade conditions typical of hosta-growing zones. Its medium stature and distinctive variegation make it an effective groundcover or border accent, pairing well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials. The plant produces scapes up to 30 inches (76.2 cm) tall.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer deterrent measures are recommended, as both pests may damage the foliage.
