Overview

Registered in 2015 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Yellow Polka Dot Bikini', 'Eros' is a small, fast-growing cultivar distinguished by its medium green leaves with unusually broad, greenish white margins. The leaf margins measure 0.875 inches (2.2 cm) wide, notably wider than those of its parent, and the ovate leaves have a tapered base and flat profile with a dull surface on both sides.

In the Garden

Reaching 12.5 inches (31.8 cm) in height and spreading to 24.75 inches (62.9 cm) in diameter, 'Eros' forms a dense, mound-like clump suited to the front of borders, rock gardens, or as edging. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and its small size makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation. Companion plants might include ferns, heucheras, or other small shade perennials that contrast with its green-and-white foliage.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain even soil moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Eros' is susceptible to slug and deer damage and may require protective measures in areas where these pests are prevalent.
