H. ‘Embraceable You’

Overview

Registered in 2013, *Hosta* 'Embraceable You' is a large, mound-forming cultivar of unknown pollen parentage, with *H.* 'Hearts and Flowers' as its pod parent. Its distinguishing feature is a medium green leaf with a broad, pale yellow margin that is slightly rippled, combined with a dull surface on both sides and a lightly wavy leaf edge.

In the Garden

This cultivar reaches a mature spread of approximately 28 inches (71 cm) and a height of 15 inches (38 cm), forming a dense, moderate-growing mound. It is best sited in partial to full shade, where its variegation holds best, and pairs well with other shade perennials such as ferns, heucheras, and astilbes. Its large size makes it suitable as a specimen or in the middle to back of a shaded border.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, especially during dry periods. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges.
