Registered in 1999, *Hosta* 'Electra' is a medium-sized cultivar of unknown parentage, distinguished by its blue-green leaves with gold margins that exhibit variable dark green streaking. The foliage is slightly shiny above with a glaucous bloom beneath, and the leaf margins are slightly rippled.

In the Garden

This cultivar forms an upright, moderate-growing clump reaching 22 inches (55.9 cm) in height and 25 inches (63.5 cm) in diameter. It performs best in partial to full shade, where the gold margins remain most vibrant, and is suitable for typical hosta-growing zones. The medium size and cordate leaf base make it a versatile companion for ferns, astilbes, or other shade perennials in borders or woodland gardens.
