Overview

Registered in 2004, *Hosta* 'Ducet' is a small, mound-forming cultivar of unknown pollen parentage, with *H.* 'Electrum Stater' as the pod parent. It is visually distinctive for its nearly round, green leaves with flat golden yellow margins, good substance, and compact habit.

In the Garden

'Ducet' reaches a mature spread of approximately 17 inches (43.2 cm) and a height of 7 inches (17.8 cm), with a moderate growth rate. Its small size and rounded leaf form make it suitable for the front of shaded borders, rock gardens, or as an edging plant. It pairs well with other small hostas, ferns, and shade-tolerant groundcovers, and is an excellent candidate for container cultivation.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, especially in warmer conditions, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed through routine garden practices.
