Overview

Registered in 2003 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Delta Dawn', 'Delta Pride' is a large, mound-forming cultivar distinguished by its blue-green leaves with wide, flat, medium gold margins. The leaf blades are broadly ovate with cordate bases, lightly corrugated and wavy, and exhibit a dull upper surface with a glaucous bloom beneath.

In the Garden

'Delta Pride' reaches a mature spread of approximately 42 inches (107 cm) and a height of 16 inches (41 cm), forming a dense, slow-growing mound. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for blue-green hostas, where its gold margins hold color without scorching. This cultivar's substantial size makes it suitable as a specimen or in mixed shade borders, paired with ferns, heucheras, or other shade-tolerant perennials.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain consistent moisture, especially during dry periods. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. While slugs and deer may browse tender foliage, the thick, corrugated leaves offer moderate resistance compared to smoother-leaved cultivars.
