Overview
Registered in 2010 by R. Kuenster through the American Hosta Society, *Hosta* 'Cutie' is a small-sized cultivar distinguished by its flowing, narrow lance-shaped leaves of medium blue-green with slightly rippled margins. The foliage exhibits a slight shine on both surfaces and is borne in a compact, mound-like habit.
In the Garden
Reaching 13 inches (33.0 cm) in height and spreading to 27 inches (68.6 cm) in diameter, 'Cutie' is well-suited for the front of shaded borders, rock gardens, or as an edging plant. Its moderate growth rate and small stature make it appropriate for container culture in typical hosta-growing zones. Companion plants may include small ferns, heucheras, or other diminutive shade perennials that complement its blue-green foliage.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer deterrents are advisable, as with most hostas.
