Overview
Registered in 1980 by P. Aden, 'Color Glory' is a medium-sized variegated hosta distinguished by its broad, dark green leaf margins surrounding a lighter center. The leaves measure 9 inches (22.9 cm) long by 7 inches (17.8 cm) wide, with eight pairs of veins, and the plant forms a dense, rounded clump.
In the Garden
'Color Glory' reaches a mature spread of 34 inches (86.4 cm) and a height of 26 inches (66.0 cm), making it suitable for mid-border positions or as a specimen in shaded beds. It performs best in partial to full shade, where its dark green margins contrast well with lighter-foliaged companions such as ferns or *Heuchera*. Its medium size and compact habit also suit it for container cultivation in shaded patio areas.
Care Notes
Water regularly during dry periods to maintain even soil moisture, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Color Glory' is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
