Overview

Registered in 2002 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Blue Angel', 'Chesieres Jasmin's Hope' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its blue-green foliage that develops light streaking and heavily rippled margins mid-season. The leaves are ovate with cordate bases, lightly cupped, and bear a glaucous bloom on both surfaces, with an unusual color change later in the growing season.

In the Garden

This slow-growing hosta forms a compact, mound-like clump reaching 16.5 inches (41.9 cm) in diameter and 10 inches (25.4 cm) in height, making it suitable for the middle of a shaded border or as a specimen in a woodland garden. It performs best in partial to full shade, where the blue-green leaf color remains most consistent, and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials. Its moderate size and distinctive leaf texture also suit it for container cultivation in typical hosta-growing zones.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during dry periods, particularly in spring when the interesting leaf detail emerges. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as growth begins; slug and deer damage may occur and should be monitored.
