Overview

A sport of *Hosta* 'Baby Bunting' registered in 2002, 'Cameo' is a miniature cultivar distinguished by its creamy white leaf margins that contrast with a medium green center. The overlapping zone between margin and center produces a medium green-gray transition area, and the leaves are broadly ovate with flat bases and flat surfaces, dull above and slightly shiny beneath.

In the Garden

Reaching approximately 4 inches (10.2 cm) in height and 12 inches (30.5 cm) in diameter with a moderate growth rate, 'Cameo' is well suited for the front of shade borders, rock gardens, or trough containers. Its miniature size makes it an effective edging plant or companion for other small perennials such as *Heuchera* or *Tiarella* in partial to full shade. The green scape, which can reach up to 13 inches (33.0 cm) in height, bears flowers typical of the genus.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring. As with most hostas, protection from deer and slugs may be necessary in typical hosta-growing zones.
