Overview

Registered in 1998, *Hosta* 'Cadillac' is a small-sized cultivar of unknown parentage. It is visually distinctive for its golden yellow leaves with flat, medium green margins, a color pattern that remains consistent throughout the growing season.

In the Garden

'Cadillac' forms a slow-growing, mound-like clump reaching approximately 10 inches (25.4 cm) in height and 20 inches (50.8 cm) in diameter. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hosta-growing zones, and is well-suited for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings due to its compact size. Companion plants include small ferns, heucheras, or shade-tolerant groundcovers.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Cadillac' is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
