Overview

Registered in 2003, *Hosta* 'Bridal Veil' is a large-sized cultivar of unknown parentage distinguished by its cascading, mound-like habit and blue-green leaves edged with narrow, creamy white, slightly rippled margins. The ovate leaves, measuring up to 12 inches (30.5 cm) long and 6 inches (15.2 cm) wide, bear a glaucous bloom on both surfaces and exhibit 9 vein pairs, with the white margin varying from 0.1 to 0.5 inches (0.3 to 1.3 cm) in width.

In the Garden

This cultivar performs best in partial to full shade, forming a moderate-growing, cascading clump that reaches large mature dimensions. Its blue-green foliage with narrow, wavy cream margins provides contrast when paired with ferns, heucheras, or other shade-tolerant perennials. The cascading habit makes it suitable for the front of borders or slopes where the leaf display can be appreciated.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, protect from slugs and deer, which may damage the foliage.
