Overview

Registered in 2007, *Hosta* 'Blushing Bride' is a large, fast-growing variegated cultivar resulting from a cross between *H.* 'Fragrant Bouquet' (pod parent) and (*H.* 'Iwa' × *H.* 'Shining Tot') (pollen parent). It is visually distinctive for its broad, ovate leaves with medium green margins and a flat, slightly shiny surface on both sides.

In the Garden

This cultivar forms a mound-like clump reaching 25 inches (63.5 cm) in height and 74 inches (188.0 cm) in diameter, making it suitable as a specimen or in mixed borders. It thrives in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and pairs well with ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials. Its large size and fast growth rate make it less suited for container culture.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as growth emerges. Like most hostas, it may be susceptible to slug and deer damage in garden settings.
