Registered in 2015 by an unknown breeder, *Hosta* 'Blue Magoo' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its blue-green leaves with gold margins and a prominent streaky variegation pattern. The broadly ovate leaves, measuring 8.75 inches long and 6.5 inches wide, exhibit a glaucous bloom on both surfaces and show moderate corrugation with slightly rippled, streaked margins.

'Blue Magoo' forms an upright clump reaching 23 inches in height and 36 inches in diameter, making it suitable for mid-border positions in partial to full shade. Its blue-gold foliage pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials that complement its cool tones. The streaky variegation provides textural interest throughout the growing season.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, particularly during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer precautions are advisable, as with most hostas, and the glaucous bloom may be more susceptible to foliar damage from overhead watering.
