Overview
Registered in 1986 by Kuk's Forest Nursery, this small hosta is a hybrid of *Hosta* 'Kabitan'. It is visually distinctive for its green leaves with chartreuse-gold-white margins, a compact mound form, and a notably tall scape that can reach up to 24 inches (61 cm), far exceeding the plant's low foliage height.
In the Garden
'Hosta' 'Bizarre' forms a dense, rounded clump 8 inches (20.3 cm) in both height and diameter, making it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container culture. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of hosta-growing zones, and pairs well with small ferns, heucheras, or other miniature hostas. Its small stature and tidy habit also make it an excellent choice for trough gardens or as edging along shaded pathways.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer precautions are recommended, as both pests may damage the foliage.
