Overview
Registered in 2010 as an open-pollinated seedling of *Hosta* 'Venetian Blue', 'Becky's Choice' is a medium-sized hosta distinguished by its intensely blue-green foliage with a heavy glaucous bloom on both leaf surfaces. The leaves are ovate with flat bases and lightly wavy, slightly rippled margins, bearing ten to eleven vein pairs.
In the Garden
'Becky's Choice' forms a dense, mound-like clump reaching 28 inches (71.1 cm) in diameter and 15 inches (38.1 cm) in height at maturity, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, where its powdery blue coloration is most pronounced. The plant's compact, rounded habit makes it suitable for the middle of a shaded border or as a specimen in a woodland garden, where it pairs well with ferns and other shade-tolerant perennials.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, particularly during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed as needed.
