Overview

Registered in 2009 by K. Walek of the American Hosta Society, *Hosta* 'Allen C. Haskell' is a medium-sized cultivar of unknown parentage. It is visually distinctive for its broadly ovate to nearly round blue-green leaves with highly variable creamy white streaking margins, a lightly cupped and corrugated texture, and a thin glaucous bloom on the undersides.

In the Garden

This cultivar forms a dense, mound-like clump reaching 19 inches (48.3 cm) in height and 48 inches (121.9 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for mid-border positions or as a specimen in part to full shade. Its broad, blue-green leaves with cream-streaked margins provide strong contrast when paired with fine-textured ferns or dark-leaved heucheras. It is not suited for containers due to its medium size.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as growth emerges. Standard slug and deer precautions are recommended, as both pests may damage the foliage.
