Field Grown Bare Root Divisions:
These varieties are grown in the field and dug up in the fall. We prune back all growth and wash the soil off the root system. The roots are then placed in cold storage until time of shipment. Bare root plants will often surprise the new perennial gardener. What appears to be a lifeless tangle of roots will spring to life within days of being planted. All of our bare root plants are 2 year old grade 1 field divisions.
Plantable Pots - The Ellepot ™
Most of our Hostas are grown and shipped in 65mm Ellepots. The Elepot is a brand new potting product that is made of biodegradable paper. The pot can be planted directly into the ground which prevents transplant shock, root damage and keeps plastic pots out of the landfill.
